Job Description
Payroll Specialist processing employee payroll, taxes, deductions, and payments for H2R-SOLUTIONS LLC. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring payroll compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process timesheets, ensuring approvals and supporting documents are included
- Audit payroll files and update payroll records
- Track pay periods, hourly wages, salaries, overtime, PTO, sick time, and vacation time
- Verify employee records and resolve discrepancies with departments
- Coordinate with HR regarding terminations, new hires, and other payroll changes
- Collect and verify employee and timekeeping data, correcting errors as needed
- Calculate pay according to hours worked, leaves, and overtime
- Process bonuses, commissions, taxes, deductions, and severance payments
- Initiate periodic payments through checks or direct deposits
- Review system calculations for wages, deductions, commissions, and benefits
- Prepare earnings, tax, and deduction statements
- Answer and resolve payroll questions and issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and tax and deduction laws
- Prepare payroll reports for management and audits
- Maintain accurate payment records
- Prepare employee income verifications
- File relevant reports and documents
- Work independently or as part of a team in a professional home office environment
- No supervisory responsibilities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Solid knowledge of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, payroll systems, and database software
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Quality Control Specialist, including experience with automated payroll systems
- Accurate and meticulous data entry; 10-key by touch is a plus
- Strict confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional calculation and memory skills
- Ability to follow company policies and legal regulations
- Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
- Great attention to detail and outstanding analytical skills
- Relationship management and customer service/support skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Human Resources Management preferred
- Payroll Certification (e.g., CPP, FPC) preferred
- Multi-state experience is a plus
- Monday through Friday availability, generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
