Job Description

Virtual Premium Auditor conducting remote commercial insurance policy audits for Builders Mutual. Reviewing business records, classifying risks, and communicating audit findings to insureds and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual audits of selected commercial lines policies by reviewing customers’ business operations and examining, verifying, and recording classification-related data from financial business records
  • Ensure audit quality through proper risk classification and exposure basis identification
  • Record audit information using a laptop and transmit completed audits in a timely manner
  • Discuss issues and problems with insureds to explain premium changes and maintain good customer relations
  • Provide agents, insureds, underwriting, claims, and accounting with information about audit-related matters, including statements, procedures, and worksheets
  • Stay informed about premium-auditing changes and current information through industry experts and related literature
  • Manage time effectively while working from a home office with minimal direct supervision
  • Conduct business professionally to conserve and protect corporate assets
  • Work on special projects and assignments as required
  • Share information and experiences with less experienced virtual premium auditors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field plus 1–3 years of industry experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Reside within Builders Mutual’s footprint: North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, or Mississippi
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Highly effective time management
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Ability to work from a home office with minimal direct supervision
  • Some overnight travel may be required for training and department meetings
