Job Description

Chief Storyteller for Splunk, focusing on strategic positioning and narrative development in cybersecurity. Crafting impactful messaging and collaborating with leaders in a dynamic tech environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft the top-level messaging and strategic narrative for Splunk Security
  • Lead the development of high-impact presentations, scripts, and decks
  • Build out critical, high-value thought leadership assets—white papers, visuals, blogs, vision decks, and videos
  • Synthesize security landscape trends and competitor movements into actionable insights and thought leadership content
  • Act as the "translator" between technical product teams and non-technical executive audiences
  • Partner with sales, product, and cross-functional leadership to refine and test messaging effectiveness

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Corporate Strategy, Strategic Communications, or a related field within the technology sector
  • 3+ years in cybersecurity or adjacent markets, with a deep understanding of the SOC, the pressure on the CISO, and the language of the industry and customer
  • portfolio demonstrating the ability to write powerful, concise, and persuasive content
  • proven experience working with and influencing senior executives
  • understand how to leverage seller and product telemetry, message-testing and external research
  • ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects with competing timelines
  • ability to structure presentations visually and storyboard keynote decks
  • comfortable sitting in technical briefings and asking the right questions
  • relevant experience in areas such as journalism, evangelism, speechwriting, or analyst relations
  • deep expertise in AI/ML impacts on the security landscape
