Job Description
QA Engineer testing software, APIs, databases, and data pipelines for SunnyData, a DataBricks technology partner. Automating tests with Playwright or Cypress and validating data quality.
Responsibilities:
- Understand requirements and translate them into test plans and test cases
- Ensure requirements traceability
- Execute test cases, including regression testing
- Document testing results and testing progress
- Document, track, and validate software defect resolution with Engineering
- Work with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and testing-related questions
- Collaborate with engineers to investigate defects and determine solutions
- Validate data across applications, APIs, databases, and data pipelines
- Establish and document testing processes, standards, and best practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and data quality
- Leverage AI tools to improve automation efficiency, data validation, and test coverage
- Collaborate with Engineering and Data teams to ensure high-quality software and reliable data
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance
- Hands-on experience with test automation using Playwright and/or Cypress
- Strong SQL skills and experience validating data in databases
- Experience testing APIs and data-driven applications
- Understanding of data quality, consistency, and integrity
- Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
- Cloud experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to document, troubleshoot, and communicate defects and test results
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple testing initiatives
- Proactive mindset and ability to anticipate risks
- Interest and experience in leveraging AI tools to improve automation efficiency, data validation, and test coverage
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- English level required
