Job Description

QA Test Engineer testing secure enterprise web platforms for Xcelerate Solutions, a federal technology services company. Automating web, API, database, accessibility, and compliance testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies
  • Analyze system requirements, user stories, and design documents to create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
  • Perform manual functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, user acceptance, usability, and UI testing
  • Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, or WebdriverIO
  • Implement and maintain automated API testing suites using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
  • Write and execute SQL or equivalent database queries to validate migrations, data integrity, and backend transactions
  • Conduct API, database, and backend validation testing
  • Perform regression testing before scheduled deployment releases
  • Document, track, and manage software defects using Jira or Azure Boards
  • Collaborate with software developers to isolate, replicate, and resolve system issues
  • Verify compliance with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility requirements
  • Produce test execution reports, quality metrics, and compliance documentation for project management and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and key stakeholders in an Agile environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional software quality assurance and testing experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, writing, and executing automated test scripts for enterprise-scale web applications
  • Experience testing single-page applications built with modern frontend frameworks such as React
  • Experience testing backends built with frameworks such as .NET Core / .NET
  • Proficiency with automated testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, and Playwright
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API testing, JSON, and web services
  • Solid database testing experience, including writing and optimizing SQL queries
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative branching workflows
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC processes in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens
  • Minimum clearance to start: Public Trust or favorably adjudicated Secret Clearance
  • Must adhere to enterprise cybersecurity policies, OPSEC requirements, and system access regulations
  • Certifications: candidates must possess or be willing to obtain the specified cybersecurity baseline and professional/technical certifications; listed certifications are preferred but not required
