Job Description
QA Test Engineer testing secure enterprise web applications for GovCon technology provider Xcelerate Solutions. Automating UI, API, database, and CI/CD validation while ensuring accessibility and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze system requirements, user stories, and design documents to create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
- Perform manual functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, user acceptance, usability, and UI testing
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, or WebdriverIO
- Implement and maintain automated API testing suites using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
- Write and execute SQL queries to validate database migrations, inspect data integrity, and verify backend transactions
- Conduct API, database, and backend validation testing
- Perform regression testing before scheduled deployment releases
- Document, track, and manage software defects using Jira or Azure Boards
- Collaborate with software developers to isolate, replicate, and resolve system issues
- Verify compliance with Section 508 and WCAG requirements
- Produce test execution reports, quality metrics, and compliance documentation for project management and stakeholders
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders in an Agile environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional software quality assurance and testing experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, writing, and executing automated test scripts for enterprise-scale web applications
- Proven experience testing single-page applications built with React or Angular and backends built with .NET or Java frameworks
- Proficiency with automated testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, and Playwright
- Strong understanding of RESTful API testing, JSON, and web services
- Solid database testing experience, including proficiency writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative branching workflows
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC processes in an Agile/Scrum environment
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred: experience with performance, load, and stress testing tools
- Preferred: experience with cloud-based test automation platforms
- Preferred: knowledge of mobile application testing and responsive web design testing frameworks
- Preferred: experience performing security, vulnerability, or penetration testing
- Preferred: practical knowledge of Section 508 compliance testing tools
- U.S. citizenship
- Public Trust or favorably adjudicated Secret Clearance required to start
- Must adhere to enterprise cybersecurity policies, OPSEC requirements, and system access regulations
- Certifications are preferred but not required, including DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher, CompTIA Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, ISTQB, CSTE, CSM, or PSM
