Job Description
QA Tester specializing in automated testing for Athena Master Reference Data Platform. Focusing on data validation, ETL processes, and system integration in a remote capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the Athena Master Reference Data Platform
- Design, document, and execute comprehensive automated testing plans covering unit, integration, and end-to-end regression testing
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts specifically for data validation
- Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline
- Collaborate with developers to define 'Definition of Done' criteria
- Perform deep-dive data validation using SQL
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to identify, document, and track defects
- Build and maintain automated regression test suites to support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) cycles
- Validate API endpoints and downstream data consumption points
- Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and completeness
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience
- 3-5 years experience
- 5-10 years experience in developing automated testing frameworks for data-centric platforms (using Python, PyTest or Great Expectations)
- Strong proficiency in SQL for complex data analysis, validation, and backend testing
- Proven experience in testing Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data platforms or large-scale data warehouse environments
- Proven track record of implementing automated testing plans with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD environments
- Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Selenium, or Robot Framework) and Azure DevOps/Jira for defect management
- Familiarity with Kafka / streaming data validation
- Exposure to OpenSearch / Elasticsearch for data validation and querying
- Experience with MDM platforms (Reltio preferred)
