Job Description
Research Scientist III responsible for data analysis and reporting at UL Research Institutes. Collaborating with teams to enhance fire safety knowledge and solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze data and develop preliminary findings for the Fire Safety Research Institute
- Prepare written reports and data visualizations to support research
- Collaborate with Fire Safety teams and other researchers for data analysis
- Develop models associated with fire safety science
- Analyze emergency response data to determine trends and develop solutions
- Work with students and teams and present research results as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field plus 8 or more years of directly related work experience or Master’s degree plus 4 or more years of directly related work experience or PhD plus 2 or more years of directly related work experience
- Expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and hypothesis testing
- Experience designing interactive dashboards, reports, and executive-level presentations
- Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data analysis libraries
- Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data platforms and analytics environments (AWS, Snowflake, Dash)
