Job Description

Senior Accountant specializing in hotel industry accounting at Howard Financial. This role supports client onboarding and streamlines hotel accounting operations for diverse hospitality businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support hotel client onboarding, including setup of accounting systems and workflows
  • Customize and streamline accounting processes specific to hotel operations
  • Manage and review financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Work with hotel systems such as PMS, POS, and revenue management platforms
  • Ensure compliance with hospitality accounting standards and best practices
  • Prepare and review hotel-specific reports (daily revenue, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, etc.)
  • Identify process improvements and implement scalable accounting solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiency and client experience
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for hotel accounting and financial operation

Requirements:

  • Senior-level accounting experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Direct hotel industry accounting experience is REQUIRED
  • Strong understanding of hotel accounting, including revenue, payroll, and departmental reporting
  • Experience onboarding hotel clients and setting up accounting systems
  • Proficiency with hotel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, M3, Opera, Maestro, or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
