Job Description

Senior Actuarial Analyst providing advanced actuarial support across healthcare consulting at Humbi.AI. Responsibilities include medical cost analysis, rate development, and financial forecasting.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct medical cost analyses including trend studies, utilization benchmarking, and high-cost claimant impact assessments.
  • Develop and maintain actuarial rate models for commercial, Medicare, and/or Medicaid populations.
  • Support rate development and rate review processes, including preparation of actuarial memoranda and regulatory filings.
  • Support financial forecasting and budget development for health plan and provider organization clients.
  • Build and document actuarial models to evaluate value-based care contract performance, including shared savings and risk-sharing arrangements.
  • Analyze population health data to identify cost drivers and opportunities for clinical and financial intervention.
  • Access and analyze CMS Medicare claims data through the CCW Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC) as applicable to client engagements.
  • Prepare client deliverables including actuarial exhibits, trend analyses, and executive summaries.
  • Collaborate with data science and product teams to support development of analytics-driven consulting solutions.
  • Provide technical mentorship and peer review for junior actuarial staff.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing ASA designation (SOA pathway); completion of at least 4 SOA exams required, ASA preferred.
  • 3–6 years of actuarial experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools including SQL and at least one statistical or programming language (SAS, R, Python).
  • Experience with healthcare claims data, PMPM analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work on deadline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
