Job Description
Senior Application Developer developing applications for customers using D-Wave's advanced quantum systems. Collaborating with internal teams to solve complex problems and optimize quantum applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop algorithms to solve complex problems while building applications on the D-Wave quantum computer and internal tools
- Implement and optimize the performance of quantum applications, primarily in Python
- Build out custom applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release
- Ensure successful delivery of projects to achieve positive business value for customers
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and other team members to understand application requirements and design customized solutions
- Become an expert on a variety of our professional services offerings such as our cloud service (LEAP) and open-sourced software tools (Ocean)
- Help to solve real-world, challenging problems that have a direct impact on our customers business success
Requirements:
- 5+ years professional experience with Python.
- Knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx is a plus but not required
- Masters, PhD, or equivalent in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related technical field preferred
- Experience working directly with customers to identify requirements and consult on solutions to complex business problems
- Strong knowledge of probability, statistics and/or math
- Experience with a version control software such as Git
- Experience implementing complex algorithms
- Experience using leading optimization tools (e.g., CPLEX or Gurobi) to solve optimization problems
- Experience building open-source applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated creativity in approaching new problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and passionate about writing state-of-the-art code.
