Job Description
Art Director working on automotive campaigns from conception to delivery in various media formats. Engaging in a creative environment with direct client interactions and leading junior designers.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and design dealer campaigns (e.g., overstock, seasonal promotions)
- Integrate vehicles into generic backplates and properly prepare retail assets
- Pre-produce social assets — considering formats from print to digital
- Design website hero panels and key visuals
- Ensure all work consistently adheres to Volkswagen’s corporate design
- Develop campaigns conceptually from the initial idea to the final look-and-feel, not just execute
- Develop a creative leading idea and roll it out consistently across all channels
- Act as a creative sparring partner for the agency and, where applicable, the client — present and defend concepts
- Quality assurance: keep an eye on brand and corporate-design conformity of assets
- Provide guidance / technical leadership to junior designers or on artworking when needed
- Work efficiently under agency conditions: scheduling, feedback loops, scaling of assets
Requirements:
- Experience as an Art Director with a clear campaign skill set (not a junior level)
- Confident in print, social and digital — you actively adapt assets to channel and application
- Agency experience is a plus (pace, approval loops, managing multiple assets in parallel)
- Automotive and corporate-design experience is a strong plus
- Independent creation of assets, not just templating
