Job Description
Senior Azure Data Architect developing predictive HR solutions for the U.S. Marine Corps. Leading data strategy, machine learning models, Azure deployment, and data science teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a data science strategy aligned with USMC strategic goals and objectives
- Work with USMC stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage data for HR processes including recruitment, retention, training, and performance management
- Lead exploration and analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, insights, data quality issues, gaps, and enhancements
- Design, develop, and validate predictive models using machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques
- Deploy and maintain scalable, reliable machine learning models in production
- Create data visualizations using tools such as Power BI to communicate insights to stakeholders
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists
- Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and business analysts to integrate data science solutions
- Implement data validation and cleansing processes to ensure data quality and accuracy
- Ensure data science activities comply with USMC and DoD regulations and security policies
- Research advances in data science and machine learning and explore technologies to improve HR processes
- Create and maintain documentation of data science processes, models, and results
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical modeling
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Active Secret security clearance required
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques
- Strong expertise in the Azure Cloud environment
- Experience with Azure, Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Machine Learning, Databricks, Logic Apps, and AI Foundry
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and PySpark
- Strong proficiency in Python or a similar language and SQL for data preparation, analysis, and modeling
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dataverse for data storage and management
- Strong experience with data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and ETL processes
- Experience in data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging
- Strong understanding of database technologies and SQL
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI and Power Automate, is a plus
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
- Must reside in the continental United States
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required
