Job Description
Senior Backend Engineer at VERT developing and evolving backend systems for critical operations in Brazil. Ensuring performance and scalability while collaborating with product teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and evolve backend systems, ensuring scalability, performance and reliability;
- Work on full-stack development, contributing modern, well-structured interfaces;
- Design and implement integrations with APIs and external systems;
- Participate in defining architecture and making technical decisions;
- Monitor production applications, identifying and resolving incidents;
- Optimize existing systems to reduce technical debt and improve performance;
- Collaborate with product and business teams to build efficient solutions;
- Document workflows, technical decisions and engineering best practices.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in backend software development (Golang and/or Python – Django);
- Experience with source control (Git) and working in agile environments;
- Experience with modern full-stack development (React, SSR and REST APIs), with a focus on performance and scalability;
- Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL/SQL) and efficient data modeling;
- Experience with distributed systems architecture and integration between services and external APIs;
- Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, observability, logging, metrics and tracing;
- Experience with messaging and streaming (Kafka, queues, events) is desirable;
- Cloud experience (preferably AWS), including storage, processing and deployment services, is desirable;
- Experience with data pipelines, asynchronous processing or data-intensive environments is desirable.
