Job Description
Senior Database Engineer supporting data transformation and migration efforts for enterprise systems. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient data migration.
Responsibilities:
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to align legacy data with target system requirements.
- Edit and optimize government-provided SQL queries to meet size limitations and formatting requirements.
- Configure, test, and execute SQL/JDBC queries from ServiceNow to import data into development, test, production, and sandbox environments.
- Verify successful data imports, analyze results against system specifications, and identify mapping gaps or transformation issues.
- Create and manage transform maps to load data into target tables within ServiceNow.
- Execute XML export/import transformations and manage Excel data files for structured data imports.
- Maintain reports and controls to track successful transformations, exceptions, and data integrity metrics.
- Work with project teams to discuss progress, technical challenges, and overall data migration strategies.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in database engineering, data migration, or related fields
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with JDBC connections
- Experience with ServiceNow data imports, transform maps, and database integration processes
- Ability to assess table structures, data relationships, and manage large datasets effectively
- Experience with ETL processes, data validation, and transformation logic
- Experience configuring interfaces and managing security settings related to data access
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
