Job Description
Senior DevOps Engineer building secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for Level Data’s K-12 education software. Leading CI/CD, automation, observability, reliability, and DevSecOps across AWS, Azure, and datacenter environments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain infrastructure supporting service delivery across multiple technology stacks
- Collaborate with Software Engineering and Security teams to provide stable and secure hosting infrastructure
- Support customer-facing production environments and internal tooling for technical teams
- Architect, design, and lead scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient infrastructure across production, QA, and development environments
- Own infrastructure strategy across the full software lifecycle and influence platform standards
- Design, optimize, and govern CI/CD platforms using Flux CD, GitLab, and Azure DevOps
- Establish pipeline standards, security controls, and release strategies
- Develop reusable automation frameworks and internal platforms
- Define monitoring, logging, telemetry, alerting, SLO, SLI, and operational runbook strategies
- Lead root-cause analysis for complex incidents and improve system reliability
- Drive architectural decisions, review designs, and mentor DevOps engineers
- Embed security and compliance controls into infrastructure and pipelines
- Partner with security teams on guardrails, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness
- Lead cloud architecture decisions involving networking, identity, scalability, and cost optimization
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field
- Experience managing and troubleshooting complex Linux and Windows environments
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git
- Advanced hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container management and orchestration
- Strong architectural experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Extensive experience using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Ability to work across cloud and datacenter environments
- Experience with Flux CD, GitLab, and Azure DevOps
- Experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages
- Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Solutions Expert, CKAD, or CKA are a plus, not required
- Ability to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
