Job Description
Senior Electrical Controls Engineer leading development of automated solutions at CHEP. Driving engineering projects for supply chain sustainability with remote work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from concept development and design to commissioning and operational handoff, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and operational objectives.
- Ensure adherence to global safety standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA), risk assessments, and regulatory requirements during the design, installation, and operational phases of projects.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and productivity to reduce downtime and improve system performance.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on engineering best practices, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring junior engineers to foster technical growth and innovation.
- Partner with Operations, IT, Safety, and other stakeholders to align project objectives, address technical challenges, and drive seamless integration across functions.
- Oversee supplier and contractor activities, ensuring adherence to standards, timelines, and budget constraints during project execution.
- Develop training materials and upskill teams on new technologies, systems, and best practices, ensuring proper documentation and operational handoff.
Requirements:
- Experience in Electrical/Control systems in a relay/PLC based controls design, development, implementation in a fast-paced industrial, logistics, production manufacturing environment
- Operations experience, supporting production
- Project engineering and/or related project management experience
- Experience with Simulation Data Collection and Application
- Experience with safety programming with Rockwell Studio 5000 and Asset Centre
- Experience with networked devices using EtherNet or DeviceNet
- Experience with electrical theory, Robotics, Controls components, automated equipment
- Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards (IEC 62061, IEC 13849, or IEC 61508)
- Experience with conveyor, sortation, scanning/vision, shuttle systems, AMRs and robotics.
