Job Description
Senior Health Education Consultant managing wellness education and vendor programs at Capital Blue Cross. Responsible for project management, data analysis, and developing wellness initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for project management, vendor oversight/program management and staff development activities as related to activities carried out by Health Education and Wellness
- Assists in the identification and analysis of population needs and proposes and develops targeted disease management, maternity management, and health education and wellness programs and services
- Data collection, reporting, and analysis of existing programs, services, and projects
- Business owner for direct vendor oversight for vendor relations during identification, selection, contract development, implementation, and post-implementation of effective disease, maternity and/or health education programs/services
- Support curriculum and staff development activities as primary preceptor for orientation and mentoring of staff
- Research, construct, and support delivery of educational activities to develop a high performance staff compliment
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a clinical or health related field
- 1-3 years experience as a health educator, preferably in a market-driven environment
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification preferred
- Excellent public speaking skills required
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
- Knowledge of current trends and issues regarding worksite wellness health promotion, health risk behaviors, health care costs and consumer issues
- Knowledge of statistical approaches for evaluating program effectiveness
- Knowledge of behavior modification techniques and interventions designed to facilitate lifestyle behavior changes
