Job Description
Senior IBM Developer specializing in RPG development and VAI Systems for Future Tech Enterprise. Collaborating with teams to support manufacturing and distribution applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain IBM RPG-based applications and systems for various business functions.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior developers, ensuring high-quality code and efficient development processes.
- Implement and optimize applications on the VAI System 2000 platform, ensuring system integration and performance.
- Oversee and participate in database administration tasks, including the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of databases (primarily SQL).
- Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions for business stakeholders, including custom reports and data extraction tools.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions that meet business needs.
- Continuously improve system functionality and performance, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
- Guide best practices and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Support the manufacturing and distribution operations with software solutions that enhance business processes.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IBM RPG development including RPGLE, RPGSQL, CL (Control Language)
- Proven experience in database administration (DB2, SQL) and optimization.
- Solid understanding of reporting and analytics development, including custom reports and data extraction.
- Deep knowledge of the manufacturing and distribution industry, with the ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize applications and systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within the team.
