Job Description
Senior Instrumentation Engineer responsible for strategic planning and application selections in nuclear instrumentation. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and overseeing technical deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Define and lifecycle manage system requirements covering plant, system, and component interfaces, function, performance, process, qualification, standards, regulatory guidance, etc.
- Work with design partners on reactor under vessel scope of design work associated with power range monitors, wide range monitoring systems, gamma-thermometers, thermocouples, etc.
- Understand nuclear reactor physics and instrumentation sensor applications for reactor monitoring
- Lead evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of instrumentation/sensor application engineering techniques
- Develop and lead the selection of instrumentation, sensors, transducers, and packaged systems in various designs
- Provide technical oversight of preparation and modification of instrumentation requirements and deliverables
- Support business and sourcing to ensure procurement specification packages are developed and evaluate suppliers
- Develop and implement plans to address US NRC design certification and customer-specific plant licensing open items.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, nuclear engineering, electronics engineering, or automation engineering, or related field
- 8 years of engineering experience working with instrumentation in an industrial facility, preferably a nuclear power plant engineering environment
- Knowledge of electrical one-line diagrams, and mechanical process piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- 8 years of experience with design/development, analysis, diagram/drawing, change, configuration, document, and workflow management systems
- 8 years of experience with IEC, NEC, CSA, ANSI, IEEE, ISA, ISO, NFPA, ASME, API standards for instrumentation and controls
- Ability to travel 15-25%
