Job Description

Senior Java Engineer building Java/Python cloud-native microservices for Salve.Inno Consulting’s international AI systems. Shaping architecture, AWS infrastructure, and technical standards across distributed services.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, primarily in Java
  • Write production-quality code as a core part of daily work
  • Contribute to Python services and codebases when required
  • Work across approximately three to four interconnected microservices
  • Make and influence technical and architectural decisions
  • Break down complex requirements and guide their technical implementation
  • Review code and establish strong engineering standards
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance without formal line-management responsibility
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to evaluate requirements, trade-offs and delivery approaches
  • Build and operate cloud-native services, primarily on AWS
  • Deploy and run containerised applications using Kubernetes and Docker
  • Work with DevOps engineers on CI/CD, deployment, scalability and reliability
  • Use data, analytics and operational insights to support technical decisions
  • Contribute to testing, documentation and continuous improvement throughout the SDLC
  • Support adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools and solutions where appropriate

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of professional backend engineering experience
  • Strong, recent and hands-on commercial experience with Java
  • Proven experience designing and developing microservices or distributed systems
  • Professional experience contributing to production Python codebases
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud-native application architecture
  • Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience designing and integrating REST APIs
  • Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software-delivery practices
  • Experience influencing architecture or leading technical decisions
  • Ability to review code and mentor other engineers
  • Strong understanding of testing, maintainability and production code quality
  • Comfortable working across several services and technical priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and product stakeholders
  • Professional working proficiency in English (C1+)
  • Based within the European Union and able to work on a B2B contract
  • Nice to have: Experience with Azure alongside AWS
  • Nice to have: Experience building or integrating AI-enabled products
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of analytics, data-processing or event-driven systems
  • Nice to have: Experience working in an international, distributed engineering environment
  • Nice to have: Previous experience supporting several engineering teams or product areas
