Job Description
Senior Manager overseeing logistics operations and ensuring trade compliance at tonies. Managing domestic and international logistics activities while focusing on operational excellence and regulatory adherence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage international logistics operations, including ocean and air freight, to ensure timely, cost-effective, and reliable movement of goods
- Oversee domestic transportation activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, carrier performance, and service levels
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve logistics strategies, policies, and standard operating procedures
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers
- Monitor freight spend, negotiate contracts and rates, and identify opportunities for cost optimization
- Proactively resolve transportation issues, delays, and service disruptions
- Ensure full compliance with all U.S. customs and trade regulations, including import/export requirements, tariff classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations
- Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and retention of all required customs documentation and records
- Manage customs broker activities to ensure accurate and timely filings with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
- Stay current on regulatory changes and assess potential impact to company operations
- Lead internal compliance reviews and support external audits or regulatory inquiries as required
- Partner with internal stakeholders across procurement, finance, operations, and legal to ensure aligned and compliant supply chain practices
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure logistics performance, compliance, and cost efficiency
- Prepare reports and analyses for leadership related to transportation performance, compliance risks, and improvement initiatives.
- Support the implementation and optimization of transportation management, ERP, and trade compliance systems
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics and trade compliance
- Demonstrated experience managing: International ocean and air freight operations, U.S. customs and import/export compliance, Domestic transportation networks
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and procedures
- Experience managing external service providers, including freight forwarders and customs brokers
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
