Job Description

Medical Science Liaison advancing Summit Therapeutics’ oncology therapies across Great Lakes states. Supporting clinical research, educating healthcare providers, and building Immuno-Oncology expert relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain high-impact territory plans, including HCP and Investigator engagement plans aligned with therapeutic-area medical and scientific objectives
  • Support clinical development and research initiatives, including site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and investigator-sponsored trials
  • Identify, gain access to, and develop customer-centric relationships with external Immuno-Oncology experts in the assigned geography
  • Educate healthcare providers and researchers on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and Summit Therapeutics products across the product lifecycle
  • Participate in and monitor relevant scientific meetings and provide insights to Summit
  • Maintain self-education on market issues, trends, product knowledge, and new therapeutic areas
  • Create awareness and relationships for Summit Therapeutics in the medical community
  • Participate in team meetings, organizational activities, and country-driven medical affairs activities such as advisory boards, Masterclasses, and roundtables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and execute account plans supporting shared scientific or business objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in the health sciences from an accredited university required (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent), although significant clinical and/or industry experience in oncology and cancer therapeutic area may be accepted in lieu of education requirements
  • Minimum of 5+ years of solid tumor cancer experience, preferably in GI, bladder, or renal cell tumors
  • Minimum of 2+ years as a Medical Science Liaison required
  • Previous pharmaceutical industry experience within relevant scientific discipline preferred
  • Experience understanding, analyzing, and communicating complicated scientific concepts and data
  • Experience building credible relationships with prominent HCPs
  • Ability to independently identify and translate corporate needs into an action plan
  • Problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Critical thinking and ability to work independently
  • Must meet healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements, which may include background checks, drug screens, and proof of immunization/vaccination
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Proficient user of standard MS Office suite; electronic document management systems and document review tools desirable
  • Strong computer and database skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively multitask and manage time-sensitive and highly confidential documents
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting demands
