Job Description
Senior .NET Developer modernising TXP’s enterprise applications across legacy and hybrid environments. Maintaining C#, WinForms and WebForms systems while integrating REST, SOAP and XML services.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, enhance and maintain enterprise-grade .NET applications
- Work with existing legacy and hybrid applications as part of a wider application modernisation programme
- Develop and maintain solutions using C# and the .NET Framework
- Work with existing WinForms and WebForms applications
- Integrate applications and services using REST APIs, SOAP web services and XML
- Analyse existing applications and understand dependencies, integrations and business logic
- Support the modernisation and evolution of legacy applications into maintainable .NET solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across existing and modernised applications
- Work effectively within codebases combining C#, VB.NET and legacy technologies
- Collaborate with consultants, developers and other technical specialists involved in the wider modernisation programme
- Contribute to technical decisions, development standards and maintainable engineering practices
Requirements:
- Strong commercial experience as a Senior .NET Developer working on enterprise-grade applications
- Deep hands-on experience with C# and .NET Framework
- Strong practical experience with WinForms and/or WebForms
- Essential production experience integrating and consuming REST APIs, SOAP web services and XML
- Experience working with large, complex or business-critical applications
- Strong understanding of existing codebases and ability to work effectively with legacy systems
- Experience maintaining, enhancing or modernising established enterprise applications
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical tasks
- Comfortable working remotely as part of an international engineering team
- Experience working in an Agile, cross-functional team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Commercial experience with VB.NET, particularly applications containing both VB.NET and C# (nice to have)
- Previous application modernisation or legacy transformation programme experience (nice to have)
- Experience in complex or regulated enterprise environments (nice to have)
- Knowledge of CA Gen / Cool (nice to have)
- Experience with applications or components generated from, integrated with, or being migrated away from CA Gen (nice to have)
- Broader exposure to legacy enterprise or mainframe environments (nice to have)
