Job Description

Senior QA specialist improving home-loan operations at Golden 1 Credit Union. Leading evaluations, compliance reviews, defect remediation, and process modernization.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement new quality assurance evaluations and lead departmental projects across multiple complex initiatives
  • Oversee project planning, timelines, resource coordination, and delivery
  • Communicate project scope, milestones, risks, and deliverables to leadership, business owners, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Conduct Check-the-Checker assessments to validate scoring accuracy and identify missed defects
  • Review statistical samples of accounts, calls, transactions, and processes for accuracy, consistency, compliance, and internal controls
  • Meet monthly production goals and KPIs while managing competing priorities
  • Investigate issues and support regulatory compliance, internal controls, and operational-gap initiatives
  • Support modernization and digital transformation efforts
  • Manage weekly defect research and reporting, recommend corrective actions, and monitor remediation
  • Lead new-hire onboarding and facilitate training and calibration sessions
  • Provide peer-to-peer feedback on best practices and QA standards
  • Develop and maintain QA resources, documentation, and workflows
  • Participate in meetings, company events, and team-building activities
  • Complete required compliance tasks and training modules on time
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 6+ years experience in Quality Assurance, Mortgage Operations, Audit, Risk or Compliance within a financial institution
  • 3+ years of direct Home Loans/Mortgage experience (origination, processing, underwriting, post-closing, or QA review)
  • Demonstrated experience performing complex QA reviews and second level validations (e.g. Check the checker, escalations)
  • Proven track record of identifying control gaps, regulatory risk, and systemic issues, and driving cross-functional remediation
  • Experience leading QA initiatives, projects, or governance routines
