Job Description

Senior Platform Engineer building Natera’s Internal Developer Portal for a genetic testing and diagnostics company. Creating service catalogs, integrations and infrastructure golden paths to drive developer adoption.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to implementing the Internal Developer Portal and help develop and operate it as a product with real users, measured adoption and a roadmap
  • Build a reliable service catalog with ownership, relationships and automated ingestion from source-of-truth systems
  • Build integrations connecting the portal to cloud accounts, CI/CD systems, secrets management and internal APIs
  • Help shape the golden path framework and build templates, scaffolding, standards and guardrails with networking, security, observability and compliance pre-wired
  • Build Infrastructure Provisioning golden paths as reference implementations
  • Support other teams through worked examples, documentation, pairing and contribution reviews
  • Reimagine existing pipelines, internal UIs and documented procedures as portal-native journeys
  • Work with tool-owning teams to gain buy-in and decommission superseded tools
  • Make the platform readable by AI coding agents through structured metadata, documented interfaces and consumable tooling
  • Prove golden paths against high-frequency workflows, support onboarding and prioritize based on measured friction
  • Help build scorecards for platform and compliance expectations and work with teams to close identified gaps

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering
  • Experience with shared services used by more than one team
  • Solid AWS experience, including IAM, multi-account and EKS
  • Terraform and Kubernetes experience
  • Experience building reusable CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong programming ability in at least one modern language
  • Experience building or extending an internal developer portal, developer platform or comparable self-service tooling; alternatively, closely transferable automation experience plus clear motivation
  • Experience turning scattered internal capability into coherent, self-service solutions
  • TypeScript and React, or equivalent application development experience in another modern language and framework
  • Ability to take features or workstreams from design through production and support
  • Fluent day-to-day use of AI coding assistants and agentic tooling
  • Interest in agent-accessible protocols such as MCP
  • Experience with regulated-environment practices, including change control, access review and audit evidence encoded into automation
  • Clear technical writing, including design documents, ADRs and operational documentation
