Job Description
Senior QA Engineer owning release readiness for React Native mobile and React web products. Investigating defects with SQL, APIs, logs, and application code.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end QA and release readiness across mobile and web products
- Help define acceptance criteria with product and developers before development begins
- Plan and execute manual, exploratory and regression testing through to production release
- Investigate defects using logs, API responses, SQL and relevant application code
- Test APIs using tools such as Postman and validate system behaviour across integrations
- Provide QA sign-off and communicate release risks, blockers and recommendations clearly
- Coordinate or support user acceptance testing where required
- Use AI-assisted tools to analyse logs, generate queries and understand unfamiliar code
- Contribute to stronger automated test coverage over time
- Work closely with product and development colleagues across time zones
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of hands-on software QA experience
- At least 1 year of experience testing React Native mobile applications
- Experience testing both mobile and web applications
- Experience owning QA for a product or feature area, including regression and release-readiness input
- Ability to use SQL to investigate and validate application data
- Hands-on API testing experience using Postman or a similar tool
- Comfort reading relevant application code to understand behaviour and isolate defects
- Strong written and spoken English and the ability to work independently across time zones
- Preferred: Experience testing React web applications
- Preferred: Experience building or maintaining automated tests, or practical scripting exposure
- Preferred: Experience with Jira, Bitbucket and browser developer tools
- Preferred: Experience working with Australian clients or employers
