Job Description
Senior SRE operating Consensys’s institutional blockchain infrastructure during APAC hours. Improving reliability through incident response, Kubernetes, GitOps, observability, and automation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide front-line operational coverage for production blockchain networks during APAC hours
- Monitor, triage, escalate, and resolve production incidents
- Participate in and help design a follow-the-sun on-call rota with the European team
- Execute deployment and maintenance windows during APAC hours, including node upgrades, chain releases, and coordinated maintenance
- Develop runbooks, tune alerts, and improve observability
- Build and maintain platform infrastructure using Kubernetes, GitOps, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines
- Serve as the operational contact for APAC-based client and partner teams
- Ramp up on Kubernetes, ArgoCD/GitOps, Ethereum clients, the Linea stack, and ZK proving
- Shadow European incidents, then lead incidents and take the first APAC on-call shift
- Identify and document runbook gaps
Requirements:
- 4+ years in DevOps/SRE/platform engineering
- Real production on-call experience for a system with an external SLA
- Experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform or equivalent
- Experience with GitOps-based deployment
- Cloud expertise, primarily AWS; Azure is useful
- Experience with Prometheus/Grafana, alerting design, SLIs, and error budgets
- Scripting/automation skills in Python, Go, or Bash
- Ability to work independently during APAC hours and escalate early
- Ethereum or blockchain node operations experience is useful but not required
- Regulated-environment experience is useful but not required
- Java or experience operating JVM services under load is useful but not required
