Job Description
Animateur·rice technique sénior·e développant des systèmes d’animation avancés dans Unreal Engine 5 pour les jeux BioShock de Cloud Chamber. Optimisation de la locomotion, des personnages et des flux de production AAA.
Responsibilities:
- Help shape advanced animation systems and improve real-time character performance in Unreal Engine 5
- Implement and configure animation assets and systems directly in Unreal Engine 5
- Create, maintain, and optimize complex Animation Blueprints and real-time procedural systems, including Cloth Simulation, IK, and secondary dynamics
- Tune, polish, and troubleshoot Motion Matching and advanced locomotion systems
- Optimize animation assets, real-time systems, and editor environments for performance and memory usage
- Diagnose and resolve technical animation issues in Maya and the game engine
- Collaborate with animation and engineering leads to refine production workflows, document tools and processes, and mentor the team
- Collaborate with design, art, engineering, animation, and audio teams to deliver a memorable AAA experience
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional technical animation experience in video game development
- At least one shipped AAA title
- Practical, in-depth knowledge of UE5 animation tools, including Animation Blueprints, Control Rigs, Montages, Notifies, and Rewind Debugger
- In-depth understanding of Motion Matching, Motion Warping, Control Rigs, Full-Body IK, Retargeting, Ragdoll, and Cloth Simulation
- Strong command of human anatomy and kinesiology
- Clear understanding of traditional animation principles and their application within the constraints of real-time gameplay
- Professional fluency in French and English for candidates located in Quebec
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to clearly articulate complex ideas, adapt information for diverse audiences, and provide constructive feedback
- Self-motivated, accountable, highly organized, and detail-oriented
