Job Description

Social Media Manager owning Instagram growth for NORY’s NYC and Boston STEM camps. Producing Reels, captions, graphics, and analytics-driven content for families.

Responsibilities:

  • Own NORY’s Instagram presence as the primary brand storyteller
  • Develop, curate, and manage a structured Instagram content calendar
  • Grow followers and engagement with emphasis on community impact
  • Produce, shoot, and edit engaging Reels about NORY’s STEM programs
  • Optimize short-form videos for reach, watch time, and retention
  • Write human-centric captions connecting NORY’s values to parents’ priorities
  • Translate technical curriculum themes into accessible weekly narratives
  • Design simple, brand-consistent static graphics and carousels
  • Track weekly engagement metrics, saves, shares, and direct-message inquiries
  • Interpret data trends and continuously iterate the content strategy

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success managing and growing brand Instagram accounts, ideally in parenting, education, pediatric, or family-focused spaces
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expert-level short-form video editing in Reels/TikTok formats
  • Baseline graphic design skills
  • Punchy copywriting skills
  • Personable, engaging, and empathetic storytelling style
  • Proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Takes feedback constructively and uses data to guide decisions
  • Resume and portfolio required
  • Instagram handles managed or links to personally shot and edited public content required
  • Key metrics from past social media achievements required
