Job Description

Software Developer building UI/UX web applications for Department of Defense and Navy systems. Coding, testing, integrating, and maintaining secure web applications across platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design requirements for new and existing business systems
  • Develop, test, and release significant alterations to existing systems
  • Revise or establish interfaces integrating equipment or software into different applications or platforms
  • Plan and execute version upgrades for assigned systems to meet Navy deadlines
  • Code and deliver user interfaces, including new and modified web applications
  • Create branches and merge code using source-control tools
  • Code web application UIs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Program in a high-level object-oriented language such as Java or .NET
  • Use an IDE to write new code and debug existing code
  • Troubleshoot and support web applications across Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other browsers
  • Collaborate with developers in a shared codebase using Git
  • Set up, configure, and run web application servers
  • Support DoD and DON information technology systems, including application development, data interoperability, system design, management, and maintenance

Requirements:

  • Accredited BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related discipline; additional years of experience can substitute for BS degree
  • Five (5) years of experience in required software development technologies
  • Experience translating application requirements to fully functional software solutions for end-users
  • Experience participating in design discussions and code reviews
  • Experience developing and maintaining unit tests for coded functionalities
  • Experience reviewing code and data for security vulnerabilities and maintaining safety standards
  • Experience assisting in database construction based on approved design and industry best practices
  • At least one DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CompTIA Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active DoD security clearance
  • Preferred experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Visio, banners and icons, and UI/UX across platforms
