Job Description
Software Engineer IV at The Standard driving large-scale integration solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to modernize applications on integration platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Drive large-scale transformation by modernizing the ecosystem that powers our Voluntary Business.
- Own the actual development of functionality that enables applications to work seamlessly together.
- Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, and dependent teams to design, build, and deliver high-quality integration solutions.
- Design and build features & services on our integration platform to connect and orchestrate applications.
- Guide a team of developers by providing technical direction, coaching best practices, reviewing code, and elevating overall engineering quality.
- Work closely with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to refine scope, align priorities, and plan sprints.
- Interface with external stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure integration points meet business & technical needs.
- Own delivery across dependencies by managing timelines, tracking deliverables, mitigating risks, and driving escalations to resolution.
Requirements:
- An Associate’s degree is the minimum education requirement. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
- Strong hands‑on expertise in Java, React, and SQL are all required.
- Experience leading/guiding development teams in an agile environment (Scrum/SAFe), with a focus on delivering quality software on schedule.
- Proven background in system design, integration patterns, APIs, and event‑driven architectures.
- Experience with large‑scale system integration (enterprise, multi‑app ecosystems) is highly preferred.
- DevOps experience or working knowledge (CI/CD, observability, automation) is preferred.
- Cloud platform familiarity (Azure is preferred) and Kubernetes (container orchestration, deployments, scaling) is preferred.
- Experience with Voluntary Business benefits or policy administration systems is preferred.
