Job Description
Staff Accountant coordinating financial and cost information for Career Team's workforce development programs. Responsible for invoicing, reporting, and managing project forecasts.
Responsibilities:
- responsible for the coordination, compilation, and analysis of financial and cost information for the company and supporting grants/contracts.
- interact with co-workers and customers at all levels.
- focus on invoicing, reporting project financial status, managing project forecasts, and associated modeling for strategic planning and analysis for various contracts across our continuously expanding organization.

- Establish procedures and policies to facilitate effective and efficient financial reporting and ensure compliance with Federal WIOA, local, State, and corporate policies.
- Ensure that the project fulfills all financial obligations in a timely and economic manner in accordance with established policies and budgets within WIOA guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and working capital requirements.
- Monitor government contracts and private restricted funding to ensure full financial utilization.
- Process employee expenses, vendor project invoices, and program payroll analytics.
- Perform month-end closing activities including Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Compile all supporting documentation for monthly contract invoices.
- Support annual audit deliverables and manage periodic program audit requests.
- Oversee and complete software client invoice process ensuring customer orders are invoiced and fulfilled within a timely manner.

Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related concentration.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience handling US government contracts is a plus.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), be able to reconcile balance sheets and profit/loss reports, as well as implement fiscal management policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency using advanced computer skills in MS Excel and Accounting Software such as Quick Books.
- Professional communication skills with a strong command of the English language both verbal and written.
- Experience with handling sensitive and confidential data.
- Experience with interacting with Executive, Upper Management and 3rd party funding sources.
- Must be an initiative-taker, hands-on and able to be flexible with competitive work demands. Take the initiative to look beyond any variances and get to the source of the problem or identify trends.
- Detail-oriented with meticulous organizational, analytical, research and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to meet accounting month-end deadlines, be proactive and demonstrate an ability to work independently and in a virtual team environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure, including performing and completing a high volume of work assignments with speed and accuracy.
- Work cooperatively with others and demonstrate courteousness and a high level of professionalism.
