Job Description
Staff Accountant supporting revenue accounting activities across Hims & Hers and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. Collaborating with accounting teams for accurate revenue reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to revenue, deferred revenue, refunds, and chargebacks.
- Support the monthly revenue close process, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy and completeness.
- Perform detailed transaction-level reviews to ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP (ASC 606).
- Assist in preparing revenue rollforwards and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between merchant processors, the data warehouse, and the general ledger.
- Partner with Product and IT to ensure accurate data flows and system integrations.
- Execute assigned SOX controls in a timely and precise manner.
- Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits by preparing audit support and responding to auditor requests.
- Perform flux analysis and explain month-over-month revenue variances.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, and reporting accuracy.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of accounting experience; public accounting is strongly preferred.
- BA or BS degree in Accounting.
- CPA track is strongly preferred.
- Foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP; exposure to ASC 606 preferred.
- Experience supporting month-end close and preparing account reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus).
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and grow within the revenue accounting function.
