Job Description
Staff Accountant supporting EVG Specialty Network’s financial operations and ensuring compliance and audit readiness. Collaborating across teams to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy in financial practices.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Accounting with day-to-day financial transactions, journal entries, and close activities
- Prepare and maintain numerous general ledger and bank account reconciliations
- Coordinate quarterly inventory processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of travel and expense reports through Ramp
- Maintain organized, compliant financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation and execution
- Serve as backup support for Accounts Payable as needed
- Contribute to initiatives focused on improving efficiency, automation, and scalability
- Support special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, and audit support
- Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience in a multi-entity, cost center, or location-based accounting environment
- Experience in veterinary, healthcare, or similar regulated industries is a plus
- Familiarity with financial ERP systems; Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
