Job Description

Structural Designer preparing calculations and construction drawings for wood-framed and reinforced-concrete building projects. Coordinating code-compliant designs with architects and engineers remotely from Mexico.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering calculations, layouts, and construction drawings for diverse building projects
  • Design gravity and lateral load systems, focusing on wood framing and reinforced concrete structures
  • Perform structural calculations for gravity, lateral, foundation, and retaining systems
  • Design wood-frame assemblies including shear walls, joists, and beams
  • Design reinforced concrete elements including foundations, slabs, and columns
  • Develop detailed structural plans, sections, and framing details using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, and project leads to ensure constructability
  • Ensure compliance with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and NDS building codes
  • Submit a voice note for the screening process
  • Provide work samples or a portfolio in PDF format

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 2 to 5+ years of structural design experience
  • Proven experience in wood and concrete structural design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software such as Enercalc, RISA, WoodWorks, or RAM
  • EIT preferred; SE/PE track is a plus
  • Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and NDS building codes

  • Eligibility to work remotely from Mexico and answer U.S. work authorization question
