Job Description
Freelance interpreter role at Hana Interpreting Services connecting bilingual individuals with interpreting opportunities. Operate independently while setting your own schedule during business hours.
Responsibilities:
- Connect bilingual and multilingual individuals with opportunities as freelance interpreters or translators.
- Operate as a 1099 Independent Contractor setting your availability and schedule.
- Accept appointments based on need within the hours of Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
- Make a positive contribution to society in support of language access for everyone.
- Complete the onboarding process to join the linguist network if qualified.
Requirements:
- Fluency in English and target language with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.
- Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
- Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate basic communication
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.
