Job Description

Tax Accounting Intern supporting federal, state, and local tax compliance at QC Servion, a data center services operations hub. Preparing workpapers, analyzing tax data, and researching tax matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Company's federal, state, and local tax function
  • Assist with sales and use tax and corporate income/franchise tax compliance activities
  • Support preparation of tax workpapers and reconciliations
  • Assist with tax data gathering, analysis, and reporting
  • Review supporting documentation related to tax filings
  • Help maintain exemption certificates and compliance documentation
  • Organize tax documentation and filings
  • Support responses to tax notices and information requests
  • Assist with state registrations and compliance tracking
  • Participate in tax-related process improvement initiatives
  • Assist with tax research
  • Support special projects as needed
  • Work closely with accounting and tax professionals on real-world tax matters within a growing multi-state group

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field
  • Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing; Junior and Senior students preferred
  • Interest in tax accounting, state and local taxation, or corporate tax compliance
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including remaining stationary and moving through home office, facility, and other environments
  • Ability to occasionally move equipment or other items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Up to 5% business travel, potentially to any or all 50 US states
