Job Description

Technical Architect leading GitLab DevSecOps architectures, deployments, and enterprise migrations. Guiding customers and partners through cloud, on-premises, and CI/CD transformations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical direction of customer engagements from scoping and discovery through delivery
  • Design high-level and detailed GitLab architectures and implementation plans
  • Deliver GitLab reference architecture implementations for self-managed and cloud environments
  • Lead source code management and CI/CD migrations to GitLab, including enterprise migrations using Congregate
  • Deploy and configure GitLab in on-premises and major cloud environments using Terraform, Ansible, and the GitLab Environment Toolkit
  • Provide DevOps and DevSecOps consulting and best-practice guidance
  • Coordinate implementation work across GitLab team members, partners, and customer stakeholders
  • Ensure deliverables align with customer requirements and Statements of Work
  • Build delivery kits, documentation, training, presentations, case studies, and enablement materials
  • Evaluate scalability, security, and compliance considerations
  • Maintain delivery automation assets and appropriate unit/integration testing
  • Support SOW creation, technical vetting, staffing assessments, and monthly release updates
  • Maintain 55% billable utilization
  • Work with customer project teams to articulate task-level requirements
  • Typically report to the Regional Delivery Manager

Requirements:

  • UK remote based role
  • Up to 50% travel at times
  • Demonstrated experience delivering two or more of: source code management migration, cloud architecture, DevOps engineering, or CI/CD consulting services
  • Enterprise software development experience
  • Progressive DevOps platform experience, including designing and implementing reliable, scalable systems
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure in cloud providers and on-premises environments
  • Experience using Terraform and Ansible
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable automation/integration code and validate changes with testing and code review
  • Experience performing migrations to GitLab, including using Congregate or similar tooling
  • Working knowledge of data consistency and integrity concepts, including ACID properties
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and time management skills
  • Comfort working in a remote, asynchronous environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another advanced technical degree, or equivalent experience
