Job Description
Full-Stack Engineer owning backend systems and rebuilding web software for Freedom Motors USA, a wheelchair-accessible vehicle manufacturer and retailer. Developing APIs, integrations, databases, and customer tools.
Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for the backend of the web platform and work across the stack with a small team
- Rebuild the website and develop internal software, including customer-facing tools and operational programs
- Design and build APIs
- Integrate third-party services and maintain reliable data flow between internal departments
- Maintain databases
- Inspect systems for performance and safety concerns
- Perform troubleshooting as needed
- Improve speed, accessibility, and customer experience
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience with production software using AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar)
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Production experience with Next.js, TypeScript, and React
- Experience with Tailwind CSS is a plus
- Experience building backend systems and integrating third-party APIs
- Experience with Headless CMS platforms
- Experience implementing payment systems
- Experience owning deployment and operation of a live application
- Comfortable working independently and communicating with individuals at all levels
- Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and propose effective solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to follow written and verbal work instructions
- Outstanding attendance record and reliability
