Job Description
Traffic Engineer supporting civil projects in remote teams across the Midwest. Collaborating with diverse professionals on impactful traffic engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Support a team of professionals to deliver: Traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design.
- Plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations and other project documentation
- ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process
- Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects.
- Actively participate in the team’s production of technical deliverables ranging from plans, specifications, estimates, reports, memorandums, etc.
- Work with Early in Career staff and help review technical work and project documentation
- Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and budget, while adhering to AECOM quality standards
- Coordinate directly with other discipline groups within AECOM, as well as with external clients and sub-consultants
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works
- Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities
Requirements:
- BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience
- Professional Engineering (PE) License or Professional Traffic Operations Engineering (PTOE) License
- Preferred minimum 7 years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, traffic staging within Agency and DOT standards and projects.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using Traffic and Traffic Simulation Software and design platforms.
- Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.
- Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both, verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work.
