Job Description

Trauma Registrar managing trauma registry data abstraction and coding in healthcare; ensuring regulatory compliance and quality patient care initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify patients meeting trauma registry criteria
  • Abstract and analyze medical record data
  • Assign AIS, ISS, and ICD-10 codes
  • Ensure timely, accurate data entry and reporting
  • Support trauma program quality initiatives and education efforts

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of registry experience (Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac, Cancer, or similar)
  • 2 years of healthcare experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD-10 coding, and chart abstraction
  • Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) or ability to obtain within two years of eligibility
