Job Description

Unreal visualization specialist creating photorealistic vehicle renderings and animations for Ford’s automotive digital twins. Translating CAD and design intent into high-quality 3D assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-end, highly photorealistic vehicle renderings and animations bringing digital twins and automotive concepts to life
  • Create and support content for the “Virtual Garage,” from prototyping and high-fidelity storytelling to in-vehicle technical asset creation
  • Elevate team visual quality by establishing and executing lighting, material, and camera workflows
  • Translate complex engineering CAD and design intent into 3D assets while preserving original design and CMF (Color, Materials, Finish)
  • Manage multiple concurrent rendering and animation tasks in a fast-paced environment against varying program deadlines
  • Create high-quality animations integrating exterior, interior, and digital experience content through visual storytelling
  • Collaborate with technical artists, modelers, and engineering teams to maintain visual standards from studio concept through digital execution
  • Support the Core UX center of excellence within Digital Product Design and report directly to the 3D Design Manager

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • 4+ years of experience in 3D visualization, CGI, or a related role
  • Strong portfolio showcasing highly photorealistic automotive renderings and animations
  • Deep proficiency in industry-standard 3D rendering and visualization software, such as Unreal Engine, VRED, and Maya
  • Expert-level understanding of physical lighting, shading, material creation, color theory, and camera composition
  • Ability to manage complex 3D scenes and optimize heavy data sets
  • Ability to maintain clean, well-structured source files for team environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate visual choices and collaborate across technical and design teams
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Preferred: strong cinematic eye for lighting, composition, and camera work in 3D environments
  • Preferred: 3D generalist skills including lighting, shading, vehicle rigging, and animation
  • Preferred: experience in automotive design studios, high-end CGI agencies, or dedicated digital twin teams
  • Preferred: hands-on expertise with real-time pipelines in high-volume, fast-paced environments
  • Preferred: proficiency in preparing and optimizing Class-A surfacing and engineering data for photorealism
  • Preferred: integration of AI tools to improve pipeline efficiency and scale high-quality output
