Job Description
Video editing professional creating realistic briefs, reference edits, and grading rubrics for Mercor's AI training tasks. Building and blind-solving post-production workflows using professional editing software.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute original footage you shot and fully own, or source openly licensed footage
- Author realistic editing briefs
- Build post-production tasks end to end in personal editing software
- Cut footage and introduce defects or distractors when required
- Produce reference edits against which correct results are judged
- Write concrete, checkable grading criteria with editorial reasoning
- Blind-solve tasks created by other editors
- Write step-by-step solutions
- Create post-production tasks used to train and evaluate AI agents
Requirements:
- 5+ years editing professionally in film and TV, commercials, broadcast news, or creator and social production
- Own deliverables end to end
- Fluent in at least one professional editor: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer
- Basic color and audio cleanup skills
- Comfortable with delivery specifications including resolution, frame rate, codecs, audio channel layouts, and frame-accurate cuts
- Resume and link to reel or portfolio
- Complete a short AI interview about editing background
- Not open to residents of California
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
- Independent contractor status
- Professional footage must be owned outright or openly licensed
- People appearing in owned footage must consent to its use and sign an appearance release where applicable
