Job Description
VP of Software Engineering guiding the application development team at Penn Mutual. Responsible for strategic leadership, technology strategies, and ensuring high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the application development team
- Oversee a team of developers ensuring high-quality work
- Manage the development lifecycle of applications from conception to deployment
- Develop and implement technology strategies aligned with the company's objectives
- Work closely with other departments to understand requirements
- Establish coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes
- Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and vendor relationships
- Identify and mitigate risks related to application development projects
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the application development team
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related discipline
- 20+ years of experience as a Java developer & AWS platform
- 20+ years of experience with Java, JavaScript, REST, and JSON.
- Proven understanding of web and API platform technologies
- Proven experience with the full development lifecycle from concept to delivery
- Proven knowledge of a broad spectrum of platforms and technologies including Python, SQL, Angular/React, Docker, OAuth, and AWS
