Job Description
Technical expert on blade integrity, reliability, and performance for the wind fleet. Supporting operational decisions, defect assessment, and performance optimization in renewable energy.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for blade integrity, reliability, and performance across the operating wind fleet.
- Accountable for blade health programs, defect assessment, repair strategies, root cause investigations, and asset performance optimization to maximize turbine availability.
- Support the development and execution of site and fleet Blade Health Management Plans.
- Assess blade defects and determine appropriate repair, monitoring, mitigation, and risk-management actions.
- Perform root cause analyses for blade failures and develop engineering recommendations.
- Review and validate findings from UAV and drone-based blade inspections.
- Analyze SCADA, condition monitoring, and operational data to identify blade-related performance issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Composite Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–10 years of experience supporting operational wind assets in blade engineering, blade reliability, rotor engineering, or blade maintenance programs.
- Strong understanding of composite materials, blade structures, manufacturing quality considerations, damage mechanisms, and repair methodologies.
- Experience reviewing and applying OEM service bulletins, engineering specifications, repair standards, and technical documentation.
- Experience utilizing SCADA, condition monitoring systems, and operational performance data to support engineering decisions.
- Working knowledge of enterprise CMMS or asset management systems.
