Job Description

POC Accounting Manager owning percentage-of-completion revenue recognition for Allied Roofing Partners' multi-brand roofing organization. Building scalable accounting processes across existing brands and acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish POC accounting at existing ARP brands and newly acquired operating companies
  • Build historical POC accounting back to each brand's acquisition date and roll it forward through the current period
  • Reconcile historical POC accounting to the general ledger and opening balance sheet
  • Establish POC timelines and readiness checkpoints for new acquisitions
  • Identify and resolve gaps in source data, job setup, cost coding, and accounting processes
  • Oversee job costing across ARP brands
  • Review cost accruals and period-end cutoff
  • Investigate cost overruns, unbilled costs, missing charges, and other discrepancies
  • Review job statuses and percent-complete calculations
  • Analyze final margins and report significant variances and trends
  • Monitor contract assets and liabilities
  • Own monthly POC accounting schedules across all ARP brands
  • Ensure POC schedules and supporting documentation are accurate, timely, and audit-ready
  • Establish and document SOPs for POC accounting, job costing, and job status reviews
  • Standardize POC methodology, processes, and templates
  • Create training materials and guide accounting staff
  • Recommend process and system improvements across AccuLynx, QuickBooks Online, Power BI, and other systems
  • Train and guide Senior Accountants
  • Review accounting schedules and provide feedback and coaching
  • Establish accountability around POC schedules and close deadlines
  • Collaborate with corporate and operating company teams, Operations, executives, auditors, and lenders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 as applied to construction or long-term contracts
  • Hands-on experience with job costing, WIP schedules, and over/under billing analysis
  • Experience reviewing the work of other accounting professionals and training staff
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience working with large data sets, lookups, pivot tables, and complex financial schedules
  • Strong understanding of month-end close processes
  • Ability to analyze job-level financial information and identify discrepancies or unusual trends
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, multi-entity environment
  • Less than 10% travel to operating company locations
