Job Description
Accounting Manager overseeing close, reconciliations, reporting, and accounts receivable for Ventra Health, a healthcare revenue-cycle and advisory services provider. Leading Finance processes and staff development.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform and review general ledger account reconciliations
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting
- Analyze, review, verify, and post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
- Investigate and correct accounting entries as needed
- Prepare and review reports and ad hoc analyses for internal and external purposes
- Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate and timely billing
- Maintain the billing system and generate and send invoices
- Maintain client records related to invoicing and bill payment inconsistencies
- Monitor aging balances and assess collectability
- Ensure revenue recorded complies with US GAAP
- Assist internal and external auditors with periodic audits
- Reconcile and adjust bank accounts to manage cash flow
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government and tax requirements
- Provide oversight, mentorship, and support for assigned Finance staff
- Administer departmental policies and procedures, evaluate performance, and assist with budgets, strategic plans, and policies
- Perform special projects and other assigned duties
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations
- Prior leadership, supervisory, or project leadership experience preferred
- Healthcare industry experience preferred but not required
- CPA preferred but not required
- Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Strong presentation development and delivery skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting and/or finance
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong time management, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Strong knowledge of Outlook and Great Plains software or equivalent ERP software
- Strong math skills
- Ability to work within a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures
