Responsibilities:
- Lead acoustical engineering, noise, and vibration control activities for mission-critical data centre projects
- Perform environmental noise assessments, predictive noise modelling, acoustical calculations, and technical analyses
- Assess noise generated by generators, chillers, cooling towers, dry coolers, air handling systems, pumps, transformers, fans, and other equipment
- Evaluate cumulative equipment noise and impacts at property lines and nearby noise-sensitive receptors
- Develop noise mitigation strategies, including equipment selection criteria, acoustic barriers, enclosures, silencers, louvers, and attenuation systems
- Develop vibration isolation and control recommendations for mechanical and electrical equipment
- Establish acoustical design criteria and equipment sound requirements meeting AHJ standards
- Review manufacturer sound data, equipment selections, shop drawings, submittals, and contractor RFIs for compliance
- Identify acoustical risks during early project phases and provide recommendations
- Prepare acoustical reports, specifications, design criteria, and construction documentation
- Coordinate acoustical requirements across mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, controls, and other disciplines
- Support construction troubleshooting, field noise and vibration measurements, site assessments, and post-construction verification
