Job Description
AI Engineer developing AI-powered operational finance solutions for founders at Martell Ventures. Responsible for delivering a scalable financial product using cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities:
- Data Ingestion & Normalization: Plug into bank feeds (Plaid), accounting software (QuickBooks/Xero), and payment processors (Stripe/Shopify).
- AI-Powered Categorization: Deploy agents to analyze, classify, and map transaction data to specific clients, product lines, and regions.
- Conversational Intelligence: Enable founders to query their financial data using natural language (LLM-driven intent detection).
- Real-Time Projections: Calculate cash burn, runway, and margin analysis using live data streams.
- Automated AR/AP Engine: Build proactive monitoring systems that trigger automated reminders, escalating collections, and pre-approved payment workflows.
- Design and Implement Scalable Services: Build robust backend logic for financial data processing using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Integrate 3rd Party APIs: Deeply integrate with Stripe, Shopify, QuickBooks, Xero, and banking APIs to ensure seamless data flow.
- Build AI Workflows: Implement agentic frameworks (Google Agent SDK, Vercel AI SDK) for automated bookkeeping and debt collection.
- Optimize Financial Logic: Develop and refine algorithms for cash flow forecasting, margin analysis, and profitability mapping.
- Full-Stack Ownership: Work across frontend and specialized backend microservices to ship user-facing features quickly.
- Troubleshoot & Refactor: Pick up existing code, identify bottlenecks, and refactor for efficiency and abstraction.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Full-stack or Backend-heavy Engineer.
- You’ve built and worked on end-to-end saas, AI, fintech platforms covering all areas of the system
